Code of Conduct
Iowa Park Jiu Jitsu Club is committed to providing a training environment that is safe for both adults and children, free from harassment and abuse for everyone, and promotes respectful and positive behavior and values. During our classes we expect every participant to adhere to the following rules and code of conduct:
Student Code of Conduct
Treat your training partners and coaches with respect
Control your temper - bullies and physical outbursts are not tolerated
Drill techniques with control
Cooperate with your coach and other students
Apply all submissions with extreme care and control
No talking while the coach is teaching
Talking during class should be kept to a minimum and relate to the class subject
Arrive on time to class
No shoes on the mats
Wear shoes to and from the mat area. Shoes must be worn in bathroom
Wash your hands after going to the bathroom
Participants to be clean, showered, and void of all bad body odor
Finger and toe nails must be trimmed short and clean
Train in clean and proper clothing only
No jewelry should be worn during training
Do not train when you are sick or feeling sick or have any kind of skin fungus
All cuts and abrasions must be covered adequately
If you bleed on the mat, please notify the coach and clean up the blood
No food or drinks on mats
Parents Code of Conduct
Encourage your children to participate, do not force them
No coaching your child or other students during class
Focus on your child’s effort and performance, rather than whether they win or lose
Never ridicule or yell at your child for making a mistake or losing
Keep conversations, phones, and other children noise to a minimum so students can concentrate and hear their coach
